Members

Membership Types

The members of the Academy shall consist of Life Members, Fellows, Affiliate Members, and Student Members. The Academy and its Board of Directors shall not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, ethnic ancestry, national origin, religion, creed, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, medical condition or physical disability. The CAA Code of Ethics is a demonstration of our commitment to high ethical standards. [CAA Bylaws, 2.1]

CAA Membership is based on the calendar year (January 1st to December 31st).

The Board of Directors shall establish annual membership dues to be assessed to all members. Membership year is January 1st through December 31st of the calendar year. [CAA Bylaws, 2.3]

Fellow Membership

  • Audiologists with a license in good standing through DORA and/or CDE
  • Eligible for Participation in all CAA events
  • Voting privileges

Membership as a Fellow shall be open to all audiologists who hold a license in good standing through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) in the State of Colorado or the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). Fellow members are entitled to participate in all activities of CAA and hold full voting privileges. [CAA Bylaws, 2.1b]

Affiliate Membership

  • Examples of Members:
    • Audiologists who have a license in good standing to practice Audiology in a state other than Colorado
    • Non-practicing or retired Audiologists
  • Eligible for Participation in all CAA events
  • No voting privileges

An Affiliate member of CAA will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis by the Board of Directors and is a non-voting category of membership. [CAA Bylaws, 2.1c]

Student Membership

  • Full-time Audiology doctoral students
  • Undergraduate students with an emphasis in Audiology
  • Eligible for Participation in all CAA events
  • No voting privileges

Student Members shall be full-time audiology doctoral students or undergraduate students with an emphasis in audiology. The Vice President of Membership will verify the student member application with a full-time audiology faculty member of a university training program. Student Members may participate in all activities of the Academy, but may not hold office and are not permitted to vote on issues. [CAA Bylaws, 2.1d]

Life Members

  • Fellow membership with CAA for a minimum of 10 consecutive years
  • Eligible for Participation in all CAA events
  • Voting privileges
  • Membership dues waived

Eligibility for Life Membership is available to a member who is at least 60 years of age and has been a Fellow member in good standing with CAA for a minimum of ten (10) consecutive years. Life members are entitled to all benefits of membership as a Fellow including voting privileges, with membership dues waived. [CAA Bylaws, 2.1a]
